On May 31, the 300MW/600MWh Energy Storage Power Station in Gaoyi County, Shijiazhuang—one of Hebei Province’s flagship new energy storage projects—successfully achieved full-capacity grid connection and officially entered a new stage of commercial operation.

Invested and developed by Huiqiao New Energy, the project is equipped with a complete core energy storage system solution provided by Guangzhou Zhiguang Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd. (“Zhiguang Energy Storage”). The project adds another large-scale green “power bank” to the emerging power system in central and southern Hebei, accelerating the province’s transition toward a low-carbon energy structure.
A Provincial Key Energy Storage Project and Critical Grid Regulation Hub in Central and Southern Hebei

Located in Fucun Town, Gaoyi County, the 300MW/600MWh energy storage power station includes a 220kV booster substation and a full range of supporting facilities. The project represents a significant step for Dalian Sanfeng Group in translating its strategic vision for the new energy storage sector into practical implementation. It is also a provincial-level flagship project supporting Shijiazhuang’s efforts to build a robust smart grid and advance its green and low-carbon energy transition.

As a large-scale grid-side energy storage project in central and southern Hebei, the station integrates four key functions: peak shaving and valley filling, frequency regulation, voltage regulation, emergency backup, and renewable energy integration. Leveraging millisecond-level response capability and high-efficiency, all-weather peak regulation performance, the project will significantly enhance grid flexibility and resilience across the region. It also provides contingency support during grid disturbances, strengthening power system security and serving as a critical stabilizer for regional grid operations.

The project is fully equipped with Zhiguang Energy Storage’s self-developed Cascaded High-Voltage Direct-to-Grid Large-Capacity Energy Storage System.
Built upon more than two decades of expertise in power electronics, this solution is specifically designed for hundreds-of-megawatts and gigawatt-scale energy storage applications, overcoming many of the technical limitations associated with conventional low-voltage energy storage systems.
